I would like to briefly share my path on what, why and how the thought processes began before deciding to pursue the hobby of creating a website which was simply a germination of an idea until a few months ago. All of this transpired because of the unexpected sequence of events that took place in my personal and professional life which gave me the inspiration and strength to express myself by preparing and acceptance of a request for mentoring.

After the brief yet life-altering 30 minutes of mentoring I received by an unnamed individual. It ignited me to re-evaluate my personal, professional, and developmental goals in life. The mentoring meeting was an absolute epiphany.

Here is what I came up with:

• Personal: What can I personally do in order to get better and improve myself?
  • Build stronger bonds with family, friends and neighbors
  • Help or lend a hand in and or take responsibility for household chores
  • Learn from past mistakes and ask for forgiveness
  • Exercise more to be healthy while cherishing my time on earth.
• Professional: What can I do to strengthen the bond between an employer and an employee while finding solutions/ideas in order to address complex topics in the work environment?
  • Capture innovative solutions and new ideas which might be going un-noticed.
  • Freedom to express, share and discuss information
  • Transparency in many delicate topics such as promotions, pay, bonuses, changes or layoffs.
  • Take compassion to the next level.
• Giving Back: How can I help lessen the impact and minimize crime happening everywhere?
  • Understand the value of life and care for others that are veritable strangers to us. We don’t have to know someone to help them.
  • Automobile accidents and terrorist organizations killing innocent people
  • Individuals becoming slaves for illegal drugs and other illicit activities
  • Other delicate topics or events happening everywhere on a daily basis.

After evaluating and considering multiple options that came up while putting together this list, I came up with a possible solution which, to my knowledge and understanding, can achieve everything on a single platform.

• Create a website which can be accessed by anyone without having to create an account or log a password. Something easily accessible without having to submit personal information to view the contents. My goals for this site are as follows:

  • A hope that my articles have an impact or can inspire even one to come up with innovative solutions to every day personal and professional problems.

  • To create a platform as a request for mentors (executives, leaders, owner/operators, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, widely-known individuals/personalities, etc.) with whom I, and/or people, can share, evaluate and request guidance with my and/or their ideas if they see any possible potential.

Below are some brief details on the path I have traveled with the combination of timing of the events and decisions made in the past few months. All of which finally gave me the courage and confidence to break out of my personal cocoon and express myself by going public.

• My sixth sense was working overtime giving me hints about my future.
• Motivation after hearing a conversation which upset me and that I took to heart.
• My son, who is 12 years old, said to me: “Dad, I had never seen you so happy in my entire life” while I was preparing for my life-changing mentoring meeting.
• Informed on November 1^st that my job was being phased-out as part of the restructuring at my company and my last day being December 31^st after almost 15 years of service.
• Crazy thoughts about writing a book (don’t know why?!)
• Write and publish a few professional articles on LinkedIn (released 8 articles in a 1-month span as I am writing this article)
• Write and publish personal articles on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, etc.

Finding the time to do something extra like this is never easy with our other life commitments. The key is to start small and keep at it. You will eventually see the fruits of your labor and it will be a beautiful thing to behold.
